Description
Safety upgrades to the Mount Lindesay Highway and associated local roads and businesses. The North Maclean safety upgrade connects St Aldwyn Road and Wearing Road to a new service road. This service road joins to a new signalised intersection at Greenbank Road and the existing grade-separated interchange at Chambers Flat Road.
This project involved the construction of a new service road along the eastern side of the highway, a new signalised intersection at Greenbank Road, a new access slip-lane between St Aldwyn Road and Wearing Road, connecting businesses and residents on the eastern side of the Mount Lindesay Highway to the service road to limit the number of direct entry and exit points along the highway, safety improvements, including new guardrails, glare screens, linemarking on the highway to eliminate overtaking and right-turn movements, and a reduction in the highway speed limit to 80km/h. RoadNet was engaged by SEE Civil (Principal Contractor) as the temporary works design consultant for this project from project inception to completion. This role required the design of all temporary road alignments on the Mount Lindesay Highway and associated local roads, temporary stormwater drainage design and road safety auditing.
